I may be missing the mark here but isn't Medicare a single payer system?? Seems that works for a good sized chunk of the population.
I actually supported the ACA (Obama care) as a step to get the health care/insurance industry off bottom-dead-center. Figured that any movement would lead to changes and improvements down the road. Who knows as we are eight years in and have only tweaked it. Off small soap-box.Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. Life is too short for light/lite beer! You're missing nothing, Lou.

I’ve been blessed with Cadillac plans for years. I passed up Medicare for a year because I was afraid of losing coverages. Picked up Medicare at 66. The best. Period. So these are “govt” employees? Any question I have is answered promptly.

I'm impressed with the quality of care my father receives at the VA in IA City, at every unit, ancillary department, we've been too.

To try and steer this back on topic - it may turn out that the cops did break the law in the manner that they used to compare the DNA samples to identify the likely killer even though they used a website for publicly sharing genetic info.
This was an interesting read this morning: https://lawandcrime.com/legal-analysis/golden-state-killer-investigators-may-have-violated-4th-amendment-through-dna-search/
Just have to wait and see if DeAngelo's attorney tries to make the case to a judge about the potential illegality of the search.

23andMe can share with participants lists of individuals who are likely related due to shared dna. Yesterday I received a message from a gal interested in exploring our shared ancestry. Less than 2 hours later she sent to me a family portrait that I reckon to be around 1912. It was my great great grandparents (whose photos I had never seen) and their 7 children - one being my grandfather. I had only ever seen 2 photos of my grandfather and in each he was in his 60s+ and the pics were blurry. In this portrait he’s a handsome 22 year-old, and I can see myself in his face. I got a sense of the courage, resilience, and strength of my immigrant ancestors - as well as their optimism. 1912 San Antonio.

That portrait - priceless!
