I recently had my original platesetter for my MM crack that was nearly 3 yrs old. I noticed the new one i recieved has taller legs. Anyone know why they have changed this?

The one on the right is new one...
It also appears to have longer legs?
Is it a newer MM upgrade or the PS for the Small BGE?Thank you,DarianGalveston Texas -
The longer legs might be one of the many tweaks to give more room between the PS and cooking grate. They did the same thing with XL years ago.EGGjlmh said:I recently had my original platesetter for my MM crack that was nearly 3 yrs old. I noticed the new one i recieved has taller legs. Put it in your MM and see how it fits. Post another photo.Thank you,DarianGalveston Texas -

It fits well. I havent cooked with it yet but i actually like how the legs are longer. Seems like the old one were too short. FYI recieved this replacement from corporate so it should be the correct replacement for the MM. Will have to post a pic of it in tommorow, its raining cats and dogs right nowPhoto Egg said:

They changed the fire ring height. Look at CSG minimax woos, it will explain the changes/difference
-
Also I've read in various places, that BGE will replace your fire ring with the "proper" new one, and there is also a handle bolt issue on the older models that they should send you parts for as well.

I went ahead and got the set up for my MM from the CGS. Next time it cracks, you may wish to consider it."Knowledge is Good" - Emil Faber

You are going to need the new fire ring as well
-
The woo setup from CGS it a much better option than the stock plate setter. You can still slide your plate setter in the woo if you already have one.

I have the woo setup for the MM. It gives ample room to get away from the heat and you can move it easily with some gloves.stlcharcoal said:The woo setup from CGS it a much better option than the stock plate setter. Is it recommended that the 10” stone and SS drip pan also be ordered?

The 10" stone will eliminate the need for the Plate Setter as your indirect piece.kweitz said:Is it recommended that the 10” stone and SS drip pan also be ordered?
Way easier to use and store the stone. The SS pan is nice and durable for the money. Money well spent in my opinion.Thank you,DarianGalveston Texas -
@Photo Egg Thanks, will get both. Considering the spider too, for wok cooking, just not sure how much stir fry I can cook up with a wok that small? Thoughts from the wok crowd?

I'm sure others will chime in but I think you can rest a wok on the MM Woo.kweitz said:@Photo Egg Thanks, will get both. Considering the spider too, for wok cooking, just not sure how much stir fry I can cook up with a wok that small? Thoughts from the wok crowd?Thank you,DarianGalveston Texas -
Google search "mini max woo wok" and select images.kweitz said:@Photo Egg Thanks, will get both. Considering the spider too, for wok cooking, just not sure how much stir fry I can cook up with a wok that small? Thoughts from the wok crowd?
There are several nice photos of Woks on the Woo in a Mini Max.Thank you,DarianGalveston Texas -
I have the CGS set up as well. It works great and it is easy to remove. It also lets you cook higher in the dome without the stone._________________________________________________Don't let the truth get in the way of a good story!Large BGE 2006, Mini Max 2014, 36" Blackstone, Anova Sous Vide

I have the woo and have been using my old platesetter with it. With the short legs it would slide right in. Haven't tried the new platesetter to see if it will work with the woo or not.stlcharcoal said:The woo setup from CGS it a much better option than the stock plate setter. FYI my MM came with the platesetter as a package deal1MBGE 2006, 1LBGE 2010, 1 Mini Max, Fathers Day 2015

It will, but you have to put it in through the top......you can't slide it in from the side. Doesn't really gain you anything, just use the plate setter. I'd you can squeeze the plate setter and the woo arms into the notches, you might pick up an inch or so more room for a drip pan. The round stone is a lot better option and easier to use.EGGjlmh said:
