The wife and I are landing in Orlando next Wed night around 7:45 and headed to Vero Beach for a couple of nights on business. Need someplace to eat on the way. BBQ not necessary but would be good. We can go either 528 to I-95 or take the Turnpike. Any suggestions appreciated. I don't want to go too far off the route.
Thanks
Thanks

Find a 4 Rivers. Not sure if there are any that way or not. Florida doesn't have many good BBQ restaurants. Have a nice visit.

There is a Chuy's right by the Orlando airport that has some killer Tex Mex.

Best to steer clear of Florida BBQ.

We both like Chuy’s so that works. Thanks

beware of tweaking Floridian meth addicts. That's just typical standing advice, sorry, no need to say

Don't know much about Vero, though. used to be a great place to watch the Dodgers around this time of the year. No more!

There is a rocket launch at the Cape on Thursday Mar 1st at 1700. You can probably see if from down there.

Best to find food before leaving the Orlando airport area. Pretty rural stretch between there and Vero.Southeast Florida - LBGE

If you get onto 520 off 528 about 10-15 miles you will cross the st johns river and there is a place called Lone Cabbage. Great for a beer , watching gators eating a little cat fish, gator tail or frog legs. then keep going east to 95 head south and when you get to Vero the driftwood inn is a great place to stay, eat or just look at the construction. Most was built with driftwood years ago, just north of the inn is Bobbys great food. Have fun. If you can make a day trip to Cape Canaveral about 2 hours north it is wonderful experience, but if there a launch scheduled when you can go AVOID the area traffic is horrible on launch day.

Definitely stay away from 4rivers not good anymore. Great place next to the airport is Grarley Barley. Since your going to Vero go stop by Grills at the port, awesome atmosphere.O-Town, FL

Thanks, all of my arrangements for Vero are taken care of. Just needed a place to eat after landing. Wife isn't fun when she's hangry.

if you will be there through the 10th, there is small but good eggfest in Jacksonville the 10th.

Won't fit with your schedule this trip but this might be worth your time in future. https://www.crydermansbarbecue.com/menu/
Sandwiches and sides are pretty good. They only open W-S at 11:00 until they run out. In downtown Cocoa.

Pig Floyds in downtown Orlando. Smoked meat and Cuban sides. Unreal.

Pig Floyds Urban Barbakoa is in Lake Nona off SR528 heading east (Narcoossee exit) when you get out of the airport on the way to Vero Beach. It is probably a 10 minute drive from the airport. They have fairly decent BBQ and great tacos ... https://pigfloyds.com/
Address: 9680 Narcoossee Rd Suite 103, Orlando, FL 32827. They close at 9pm.

I'd say seafood or cuban sandwiches“There are three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who has the same first name as a city; and never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body.”

Thanks for all the suggestions. The idea is to grab something close while going from the airport to Vero Beach. We won’t be in the car until 8:30 so it’s important to eat close to the road. Chuy’s it is. Fljoemon Pigfloyds sounds great but alas no alcohol. I’ll need a beer or two. Thanks again.
