@run53, it is more probable than not that Brady knew, but you are right, that is not proof. If they did let the air out of the balls, that is cheating, and if caught, pay the price. The funny thing is, the deflated balls were discovered just before the end of the first half, and Brady was better in the second half with footballs that were fully inflated.
It is not the cheating that has the haters hating, it is the winning. The cheating (which many others teams do and have been caught) is just used as ammo for the haters. Similarly, think of the people that have a problem with homosexuality. Do you think a conversation like this has ever happened, "hey Bill, what do you think of homosexuality?" Bill responds "I don't know, I have never really thought about it." Then, a few days later Bill says "hey Jim, you remember what you asked me the other day? Well I was reading my Bible last night, and it said homosexuality is wrong, so I am against it."
Like I have said before, we are in a time of free agency and salary caps, and a coach and QB are doing what the Steelers, 49'ers, and Cowboys could not do when it would have been much easier.
We are witnessing greatness, enjoy it. Or not. -

It's the likes of something we'll never see again. Ever! And who knows.....it could all come to a crashing end this weekend. Even us homers know that dynasties like this cannot last forever.
In case anyone forgot, let me remind you that even though Brady and the Pats were penalized for deflategate, it was never proven that Brady ever instructed that footballs be deflated BELOW the league minimum. Even in the absurd NFL-commissioned report, Ted Wells could only make the comical charge that “it is more probable than not that Tom Brady was at least generally aware of inappropriate activities.” What a sentence
That's all they could come up with. If you ask me, it is more probable than not that Ted Wells was at least generally aware that this charge was full of bleep. But Goodell gets to do whatever he wants, so I guess last year he chose to hand out one of the harshest penalties ever for something that could not even be proven (and a crime that no one ever cared about in the past). This year, according to the so-called conspiracy theories, Goodell's done a complete 180 because he all of a sudden loves the Patriots so much and put the fix in for the Patriots this year

Did you hear the one where the NFL was said to have put the fix in for the Patriots first SuperBowl win back in 2002? It was the Super Bowl following 9/11 and supposedly the NFL thought it would be a good idea for the Patriots to win because of their Patriotic name
I wonder how Goodell conspired that comeback in the Superbowl last year. Did anyone see anything suspicious in the way Brady threw for 245 yards in the 4th quarter

It's very clear to all the haters that the past 17 years have everything to do with cheating, bad officiating, and mysterious NFL conspiracies and nothing to do with the greatest QB/coach combo of all time. Thanks for point that out...it all makes sense now

I honestly don't get too excited about the cheating, largely because my team wasn't denied anything because of it. Don't like the Pats, but don't dislike either. Just wondering though, do either of you have any explanation (other than the obvious) about why Mr. Brady destroyed his phone?SemolinaPilchard said:Stillwater, MN -
Ok, I was done with this.....but since you asked.........feel free to read on
Actually, most high profile celebrities are encouraged to destroy their phones when they get a new one. It's a pretty common practice. To be honest, this is a non-issue anyways, since all that Wells wanted from the phone were his text messages.
Knowing that, Brady offered to provide the league with seven months full of phone records (I believe from AT&T) that had numbers from every call and text. That in itself should have been enough for the NFL to re-create all the text messages he sent and received. In its official response confirming Brady's suspension, the NFL admits in a footnote in small print that the offer was made by Brady and his agent.
It turned out that the log list contained only 28 NFL employees, so it should not have been that difficult for the NFL to track down whatever messages they wanted, even without the phone. But, for some undisclosed reason, the NFL decided they didn't want to do that. Why???? Because they already had their "Silver Bullet" they needed to win convincingly in the court of public opinion. Tom Brady destroyed his phone!
