OT- Blender Suggestions

Looking for a "larger capacity " blender that can blend vegetables into puree effortlessly , can take dehydrated iems and make a powder etc---to many on the market makes my head spin--Started the Blender Journey once I started doing Home Fermentation and needing to get my finished ferment into the "sauce Stage" easier than my cheapo blender, I make a lot of powdered "Chilies" but using a Spice AKA Coffee Grinder for that , would be nice to have a multi Use Tool

I'm on Team BlendTec. My sister is on Team VitaMix. We argue all the time over which is better.

I think most folks tho would give the nod to a VitaMix.

I just blended something the other day. (I am not the primary user) It has an "odometer" It has cycled over 7,000 times since we have owned it.

Note-
I have never tried to make dry items into a powder. Not sure that would work.

I've seen a BlendTec turn an iphone into a powder. I'm guessing it can do the same to a bunch of dried chiles.

i have not figured out how to get the pepper sauce juiced other than straining in a finer mesh, ive read foodmill but the pics i see still look a little chunky. was thinking the strainer for the sauce and re-hydrating the chunky stuff to spoon into chili or sloppy joes where the texture wouldnt be a problem. would like to see a fix for this

I got my wife a Vitamix 5200 for Christmas, and we’ve used it almost everyday since. We love the thing. It will absolutely work for all of the uses you outlined in your post, as well as grind your own flour, make fresh peanut butter (or any other nut butter), make hot soups, and blend up one hell of a smothie (or pina colada/margarita if your looking to knock a few back by the pool in the summer)

Ive heard rave reviews about BlendTec as well, but don’t have any hands on experience with one

I will still use a mill, as the final strain

I will still use a mill, as the final strain

Paper coffee filters supported in a strainer or colander do the trick.

Blendtec is a good choice.

Vitamix however can blend a blendtec into a smooth sauce.

We got a Vitamix a few years back and have used it for smoothies every single weekday along with other applications many weekday evenings. It has surpassed my expectations. If I’m not mistaken, it came with a seven year warranty. They are expensive, but worth the money, IMO.

My wife wanted to get into smoothie making. She was following the green smoothie girl and purchased blend tec through her site and discount. My in laws were at costco during vitamix demo (and of course sale) so they are vitamix customers.

Both are great blenders.

We have a vitamix 3500 which is a beast. Love the pre-programmed modes to include the cleaning cycle.

Vitamix. Period. We've gone through many Blenders and they all died or didn't do what we wanted (I blame it on the Margarita's). Last one was a Ninja - it was OK.

Vitamix blows it out of the water with ease.

It was between Blendtec and Vitamix. They seemed close in reviews but I found the Vitamix refurb sale and thought it was a good deal. It was a Christmas present and I figure that if I'm still married after buying my wife a blender for Christmas it must be good, right?

Funny thing was a day or two after buying it I hear one of those Christmas jewelry commercials telling me how much of a better husband I would be for buying a diamond over a blender. I got over the shame.

That and my daughter in law told me how they will pulverize the seeds on a strawberry and make an absolute smooth smoothie sold me. These things will actually use high speed friction to warm up a soup smoothie and the cleaning cycle couldn't be easier. Just fill half way with water and add a drop of soap then dial in the clean program. It's that simple.

The newer Vitamix machines do fit under a cabinet.

I have the Vitamix Vita Prep 3.
It is a great blender. It's a little large for home use, but it's nice to have the commercial power it provides.
