Fillet steak with Madeira, cream and mushroom sauce ... and a supermoon

Options

Last night's meal, we decided to have our favourite food from 2017. So that meant fillet steak cooked low n slow then seared in the Minimax, served with triple cooked chips and Madeira, cream and mushroom sauce.

This is proof (if one needed it) that using a camera after a decent amount of wine is a non-starter. So we took some pictures of the supermoon instead, using a spotting scope with SWMBO's camera attached to it. Happy new year folks!

The lovely steak sauce:

Close-up on the chips (or fries, just for you @Carolina Q  ):

The supermoon, at midnight UK time:

That plate looks delicious! Do you have a recipe for the cream sauce?

Cheers, it's going to be at 99.7% visibility tonight, more than last night, so here's hoping for some more clear shots.

FWIW, SWMBO is using a Celestron Ultima 100 spotting scope with a T-ring adaptor to mount her Canon 80D on it.

Beautiful cook! The peas, broccoli and chips look every bit as good as the steak!

Looks like we have another @Gator Bait now. Blair doesn't hang out here, but we could always count on his occasional Moon shots on the old forum. Nice work.

I hate it when I go to the kitchen for food and all I find are ingredients!

LOL, yes, before BGE decided to sponsor their own forum (this one), there was a completely different place. Independent of BGE, but with members just as rabid. It was also called eggheadforum.com. It still exists, though far less active than it was. Many of the folks you see on here, started there.

    It is now... http://www.greeneggers.com/
