OT Anybody have a Blackstone drip pan modification? OT

Just recently bought a 36 Blackstone and have cooked on several prior to purchasing my own. Same problem I have noticed with all of them is the drain trough doesn’t always drip into the drip pan, it will run down the front of the leg and onto the floor making a mess. Just wandering if anyone on here has made a successful modification to theirs so that it doesn’t make a mess and actually runs into the drip pan. Thanks

Flared piece of 3/8 copper formed into the angle , works like a champ

@Ikapigian Does the grease run over the flare and through the copper or under the flare and run down the outside of the copper tubing?

Snip off the top of a beer can. Throw it away when you’re done and avoid cleaning that grease trap altogether.XL & MM BGE, 36" Blackstone - Newport News, VA -
Good ideas here.

@johnnyp I like your choice of beer and the fried rice looks great.

Saw a guy bend a cotter pin to a T and drop it into the hole. Had some copper lying around from a previous project, it only took a few minutes with some pliers.
Haven't used the 36 yet, but like the 28, this area is concerning. Any 36 users have any issues with runoff from that corner?

Brandon,
I used a binder clip (removed the black pincher), and placed on mine, and it didn't work too well. Maybe the metal needs to be thicker? Your piece of copper is pretty thick stock. Interested to know.
I have not noticed that notch being an issue either.
I've seen this around, but not sure how it works. It was discussed at one time but no one ever commented about it.

Thanks for the input, and link. I'm a cheap a$$, was hoping this free fix will do.tarheelmatt said:Brandon,

I'll trial it this weekend. If it fails, I may just cough up the 15 bucks.BrandonQuad Cities

I have tried the bent wire and binder clip and neither one worked very well. It still leaked grease down the leg.

Here's a couple of different options including the cotter pin fix.
