Recommendations For Pressurized BBQ Sprayer
WeberWho
Posts: 11,524
I'm wondering if anyone else has a recommendation for a pressurized bbq sprayer or brand they can recommend? I believe you can find them at Lowes, Home Depot, etc for around $10. I'm not sure if they are considered "food safe" though. I'd like to find something other than my Dollar Store spray bottles I've used over the years for spraying Q. The pressurized type is appealing over the regular spray bottle. Any tips of thoughts are helpful. Thanks!

I use the one gallon plastic sized lawn sprayer you find in every hardware store. Wash it well and then away you go. It is well labeled to preclude mixing in the garden chemicals. Still here and no ill effects. FWIW-Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. Life is too short for light/lite beer! Seems I'm livin in a transitional period. Good to know. Thanks for the tip. It hard to even find a "food safe" pressurized sprayer anywherelousubcap said:I use the one gallon plastic sized lawn sprayer you find in every hardware store. Depending on what you're spraying, if you're not going to use it for a while you want to run a little sanitizer through it before putting it away.Cincinnati, Ohio. Large BGE since 2011. Still learning.

I use the pump style called Misto. I keep bottled water in one and EVOO in another. They work fine.

I use the quart size trigger sprayers that Home Depot carries, they are the Zep brand.
Not pressurized, but they are well made and last a long time.

Like @RRP says, the misto is pretty neat. Just dont try to pump it 50 times for max pressure, the top blows off the can and oil sprays all over the kitchen. Or so i have been told.

Haha Milesvdustin! Too funny. I think the angle is limited on spraying with the Misto. Cool concept but it might be a little slow for doing multiple cuts of meat with the offset. I can see how it would come in handy with smaller cooks.milesvdustin said:Like @RRP says, the misto is pretty neat. Zep as needed. Wash repeat."Knowledge is Good" - Emil Faber

Thanks for the tip YukonRon. I could care less about it being FDA approved but I better play by the rules if I ever end up doing a little catering down the road. Which is sad as the FDA bottle is probably the exact same product as the Zep bottle with 3x the price.YukonRon said:Zep as needed. Wash repeat.

How funny BulletGrillHouse. I'd imagine they're perfectly safe to use with food products. Too funny about Franklin using them. I must have thrown away my dollar store spray bottles as I couldn't find them this morning when in need. A quick trip over to Walmart as they were the only place open this morning. 30 minutes later I return home with a new spray bottle. Only to find out that the spray bottle was missing the inside tubing. So I had to make another 30 minute trip back to Walmart. Not what I was hoping for when I had turkeys on the smoker and sides to make yet. Oh well. The sprayer works great. It sprays at all angles. The best part is the sprayer is put together by special needs employees. Well worth the extra few bucks. Not FDA approved
but will work for the meantime. It beats out any of my dollar store spray bottles I've used in the past.
