I have a Rutland on my large (replaced a couple of years ago) and a large Rutland on my BGETisserie ('cause I could)... I still am waiting for my original MM gasket to fail and have pre-purchased a Rutland from Ron for it as well.

I've purchased from Amazon.

Ron, thank you for the PM analysis/comments, and your reply above. As with all of my buying choices, buying the Rutland gasket on Amazon is not completely been based on price. I am sorry to have offended you by posting a link to where one could purchase on Amazon. I just gave a link. I wish you the best with your side businesses (Umi dry bag and Rutland) but please consider not using this forum as your sales vehicle or at a minimum not taking a such a defensive stance. I paid $12.87 and received in 2 days. I don't know what your price + 2 day shipping is. Maybe I overpaid by a buck.. Oh well. buy hey, what do I know

I bought my Rutland 8 years ago from a local hardware store. They have a bulk spool and you can buy it by the foot. 7' for my large @ 79¢/ft. cost me $5.53.
I was in that store a couple of days ago and out of curiosity, I looked to see if they still had it. Yep, still at the top of the same end cap. Next to the other spools of different sizes. Still 79¢. Not much left on the spool though, maybe 15-20'. Wouldn't be surprised if that was the same spool I bought from 8 years ago.
If you prefer aramid (Nomex), McMaster-Carr sells 1/8" x 1" for 47¢ per foot. Comes in 10' or 50' lengths ($4.70 or $23.50).

I hate it when I go to the kitchen for food and all I find are ingredients!

@Raymont, did you factor in the $99 prime membership into your costs?
Not trying to pick a fight here (especially with a local Middle Tennesser) just stating the facts. @RRP sells the gasket sized to the Egg you request.... I 7' enough for an XL. Additionally @RRP provides detailed instructions on how to install.
I actually don't even remember how much I paid @RRP for the gasket kits I bought for my eggs and purchased for friends.
Could I have bought it from Amazon or McMaster Carr? Probably...
Would @RRP still have provided a copy of his instructions if I did ... Probably.
I haven't ever seen @RRP as "pushing" a side business simply supplying useful product with useful instructions to like minded Eggers.
Come have a beer!!

@RRP does not make money selling Rutlands. He sells it for cost. I'm pretty sure he just charges true shipping costs too. It is his way of helping the egging community. I liken it to a hobby. Nobody makes money on a hobby, they do it because they enjoy it.A bison’s level of aggressiveness, both physical and passive, is legendary. - NPS

Ok, who thought this was ever going to go well?
I say make your decision on what you want, get it wherever you want. Like with lump discussions, you’ll be judged by some no matter what, and others will get their feelings hurt. Oh well. -
ron makes a killing on these gaskets, he drives 800 miles to vermont, books an overnight at a bed and breakfast, gets up early to freeze outside to beat the lines, drives home, boxes and sends the gasket at cost

My Rutland is as good as the day I put it on. Thanks, Ron!
My factory gasket degraded from the first cook until it peeled itself off after a high temp pizza night. Those things are trash...

You guys just won't believe it. I found a Rutland gasket in a bag of RO and it had RRP's name on it.
Geaux Tigers!
The problem with a problem is that you don't know it's a problem until it's a problem, and that is a big problem.

So they're out of the used?
-
I did see a bag of Fogo lump listed under used once when it first came on the market. That was a LMAO moment.

Have a Rutland and haven't installed yet mainly because my original gasket is still performing. I was curious how BGE looks at replacing the OEM with an after market product that's not designed for this application. Anyone ever have warranty issues and BGE not honor them due to the gasket being used off label?Tyler, TX XL BGE 2016, KJ Classic 2019, MES, 18.5 WSM, Akorn Jr, 36"&17" Black Stone, Adj Rig, Woo, Grill Grates, SS Smokeware Cap, KAB, FB 300, Thermapen
