I don’t really know. I never make hot dogs, let alone chili dogs. When I have long ago, I used that Wolf Brand no bean chili. It’s hot dog chili. At the store yesterday, they had this sauce stuff that was in a smaller can. Looked kind of the same and was specifically called out for hot dogs, even with ‘authentic texas recipe’ which makes zero sense to me now. It’s a smaller can and I was cooking for one, so seemed to make sense.tarheelmatt said:What is this chilli sauce?
It wasn’t awful, but the flavor wasn’t right and it was too thin, made a mess. So I checked the can. Here is the list of mostly solid ingredients: ground prepared pinto beans, whole rolled oats, modified corn starch, chili pepper, rendered beef fat. Not only does it contain beans, it doesn’t have any meat.
That chili that yolk posted is what it should’ve been.THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION TO THIS MATTER -
@DoubleEgger That's really nice.Coleman, Texas
Large BGE & Mini Max for the wok. A few old camp Dutch ovens and a wood fired oven. LSG 24” cabinet offset smoker. There are a few paella pans and a Patagonia cross in the barn. A curing chamber for bacterial transformation of meats...
"Bourbon slushies. Sure you can cook on the BGE without them, but why would you?"

@blasting best I can do is leftovers for tonight. Of course you have to float some corn bread, add chopped onions and a big squirt of mustard.

Did have a phenomenal Cesar Salad at some Italian restraunt I walked by. It was named after an actor, Chazz Palminteri. The pasta was pretty good too.I would rather light a candle than curse your darkness.

You drove around there? Better man than me. I leave my vehicle in NJ and take the train in. Have never drove a vehicle in the city and don't ever intend to.Ozzie_Isaac said:

@Ozzie_Isaac - Early (time-wise) for Times Square but it has been much cleaned up in the past 30 years. Guilani really got after it. Too bad you are anchored to the car as it is much more fun as a pedestrian.
Check out HBO's series "The Deuce" for how it was in the sixties-early seventies. And there may be a bit of video drama there but not far off the mark. Never sit forward of the balcony in any 42nd St theater back then.

I am the very fortunate beneficiary of this bowl of greatness. All I can tell you is these things are over the top.......and I can’t tell you Michael how much I appreciate them.DoubleEgger said:Just whipped up a double order of spiced pecans for a good friend.
They are hidden right now from the wif, gonna be rough around here......I digress! Back on point, I will be sharing some of these at my annual First Fire gathering this Saturday.
I think one of the greatest gifts you can receive from a friend, is something they made or prepared themselves. I am humbeled by this jesture. Again thanks Michael....for your kind gift. Ellijay GA with a Medium & MiniMax

Oh, I was a pedestrian. Drove around, then paid the price of a SBGE to park a block from Time Square. Walked all around for a few hours. It was amazingly clean. Shocked at how sanitized it all is.lousubcap said:@Ozzie_Isaac - Early (time-wise) for Times Square but it has been much cleaned up in the past 30 years. Guilani really got after it. Next time I will do the trains and park outside Manhattan.
Driving was an experience. Closest thing to it is imagine exiting a parking lot right at the end of a concert/NFL game etc. Only parking lot never ends.

@lousubcap I apologize but I was sworn to secrecy by the lady who gave me the recipe 15 years ago. It took about four years of pestering her before she gave the recipe to me. I'm a man of my word so I can't divulge.

@DoubleEgger - I'm good with the explanation. But let me ask, have you ever had any commercial (or other home creations) that were close to your taste profile? Should you have experienced the above flavor can you divulge the sources/recipes... Asking for a friend
