RO vs BGE Lump

I got to say, I have read all kinds of posts here about various lump charcoal. Went to our local Home Depot and they had pallets of RO for sale for 12.97 a bag. I purchased two for essentially the same price I have been paying for one bag of BGE, now I am no expert but the only difference I can tell is the RO seems to take a little longer to light and get hot vs BGE. I haven't seen garbage, rocks or junk in the bag (not yet anyway). I did not tell anyone I was using different charcoal and nobody has mentioned food tasting different. Am I the only one??

I've had two bags of BGE and went to Home Depot for a bag of royal oak. My understanding from posters here is they are one in the same. Just paying for the BGE logo on the bag.
My bag of RO did not have the made in America flag on it. But honestly I've used it for two cooks now, it's no different from the BGE lump I've used with some sizable pieces in there. I'll try and get a bag of the made in America one next time if they have it to see if there is a difference, but so far no complaints. -
RO makes several private branded lump charcoal, one of which is BGE. Good call with not paying for the brand mark-up.Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. # 38 for the win. Life is too short for light/lite beer! Seems I'm livin in a transitional period.

Just came back from restaurant depot. They had RO 15.4lb bags for $11.11 out the door. I picked up only a few bags but I think I'll have to get some more. This is my preferred lump.San Diego, CA
