Granted if you just buy one bottle at a time from a local source then this thread will not interest you!

Yesterday I mentioned receiving 2 bottles of DP's new Peking rub. When I fear the second bottles could go flat before I use them here's what has worked for me. I vacuum seal the spare bottle(s) in a Food Saver bag and freeze them. At least in my mind the freezing suspends the deteroriation plus prevents the damage from sun.

I got some left over (un-used) eclipse glasses if it would help solve your sun problem.

Is this how I get on the dizzy pig free sample list? Just spam the forum every time they put out a new rub?

I actually pour all of the spare out on a sheet pan and separate all of the different components and freeze separately. Taste just like the real thing when reconstituted.

Do you freeze each grain separately?  Or do you just make sure they're all far enough apart from one another in the foodsaver bag?

No apology needed. I just thought I'd share a trick that has helped me over the years. Enjoy your evening!

I found a clump in a bottle of DP rub once. Threw it right into the trash.

So wait. Your trick is to use the food saver to preserve food? Genius

That's exactly what got me started freezing my extras. I just finished the last of my Witchy Red last month. Due to the cost and hassle I doubt I will ever fix it again, but I will still have fond memories of it! In addition...RIP Ken Stone!
