I bought this one for about $14. Light, compact, and backlit. Has worked very well for me as I have been baking a lot of bread in the past several months . Just tare it after adding each ingredient, and it's easy to  keep track of everything.

I used to have that Oxo and it didn't work very well after a year or two. The weight would bounce around with a range of 10g or more. Drove me nuts. And it wasn't backlit.
    Thanks Caliking!

Had the same one for years and can't complain. Need to get another one that weighs down to a tenth of a gram at least so I can weigh out hops for my homebrew, though.
    Thanks Griffin!

I've been looking online at the digital scales you guys have recommended the past few weeks. I pretty much decided on the KD-8000 but never made it official. A package shows up at my door this afternoon. My wife says, "What did you order?" My response, "I don't recall ordering anything". So my wife opens up the package and it's the KD-8000. My response, "Sweet!!!". Her response, "How much did you drink the other night?" I was looking at the KD-8000 two nights ago on ebay but never purchased it. I have to log into my PayPal before I can purchase anything. Crazy to say the least. I've always heard of items jumping into your cart but I'm all about items showing up at your door unannounced that I need! The purchase found its way onto my credit card but I'm excited that it's already here! Funny thing is that I planned on buying the scale last night but I ended up getting distracted and put it off. I'm glad I waited....

Thanks @HeavyG and everyone else with their recommendations. Much appreciated!

Ozeri.  Got mine on amazon for 15 buckaroos and it never lets me down
Pretty sure all scales now come with tare function but b4 u buy, verify
  • Bought mine at BB&B with a 20% off coupon - The Biggest Loser scale by Taylor. After studying a slew of scales they had on display, I selected this one because of its simplicity - easy to use.

Best scale I've ever owned right there.

The DudeThis is a very complicated case, Maude. You know, a lotta ins, lotta outs, lotta what-have-you's. And, uh, lotta strands to keep in my head, man. Lotta strands in old Duder's head. Luckily I'm adhering to a pretty strict, uh, drug regimen to keep my mind, you know, limber.

Vincent, as I recall, the MyWeigh scales have a lifetime warranty... But only if returned in the original box. Sounds ridiculous and I may be wrong. But I still have my box. Somewhere.  =)

I hate it when I go to the kitchen for food and all I find are ingredients!

I've had this same scale (Ozeri) for about 10 years... Useful for weighing Hops and grain for beer making.  To date... it's never made it to our kitchen!

Warranty is only worth so much when they make you jump through every hoop for a claim. Crazy how they make you hold onto a box. I suppose 75% of potential warranty claims are eliminated the first few minutes when the box hits the trash. Smart on them but kind of a sleezy way to avoid warranty claims
