Shady Maple Brisket and Short Ribs

For those of you in the Lancaster, PA, area you might be interested that Shady Maple has USDA Choice Packer Briskets on sale right now for $2.99/lb.  The label on them says Brisket Flat, but the sign on the display and the briskets themselves are packer briskets. I asked the butcher why they were labeled that way and he said it was probably an inexperienced worker since their flats are usually $8.99/lb.

They also have cryovac packages of Certified Angus Beef short ribs with bones for $2.99/lb.  They are packed 2 4 bone ribs per package.

    How big are the short ribs?  I just did one of their briskets on Saturday and thought the quality was pretty solid for the price.

    There are 2 slabs in a package and they are about 8 inches long and between 5 and 7 inches wide - 4 bones.

    When I just looked at the package, I realized that they were $3.99/lb not $2.99/lb

    I was there yesterday but don't have any idea how long the sale lasts.  They usually have briskets all the time but not at this price.
