Not usually a fan of unitasker gadgetry, but this thing works, and works well for the cornnoisseur.
A knife is ok. Always messy with kernels bouncing everywhere, can be dangerous too. Nothing wrong with doing a couple ears this way.
Any more than that, this tool plows through the ears pretty quickly, no mess, emptying the stripper after each one. Angling the hole to stay up is key, using Malcolm's double glove trick helps with hot corn.
Breaks apart easily for cleaning.
I love corn on the cob, but it's nice to mix it up too.
