Found this at a yard sale this weekend. $20, never been used. Figured would be worth a try.
Anyone familiar with this brand?

My guess that one is like my Oster brand. It has a lot of plastic parts and is only good for light duty, occasional use. Just the same mine has lasted at least 30 years so I certainly have gotten my moneys worth out of it!Re-gasketing the USA one yard at a time

I have one and have had it for several years. Works great and you can pick up different blades for it. Cuts thin slices very well.

I think this is the same as the Cuisinart one I've got. Just be careful not to push too fast. Mine has a plastic drive gear behind the blade which only lasted about a year before wearing out. Take your time and it should last.

For $20, there isn't much risk.
Good price to take a chance and give it a go! -
It's better than nothing

For $20.00, I think you got a bargain. Be careful with it, and do the proper maintenance, and you should easily get you investment out of it.
It is a great deal for what you paid."Knowledge is Good" - Emil Faber
