Table Nest Question

Not my first egg, but my first table nest. Assembled the nest but the center screw head is higher that the supporting arms (not flush). I'm concerned it will create a very high pressure point on the screw itself and would cause the egg base to crack. Is the bottom of the base concave? I am not able to see the bottom of the base right now. Any help?

I think I just found my own answer.

Looks like (stock pic off the interwebs) the base rests on a portion near the edge of the legs and isn't touching in the middle. Whew!

Rest tonight, grasshopper, but if I were you I would still go to a big box store and buy a concrete stepping "stone" for 2 bucks to put that metal stand on.

Just to clarify - this is going on a stainless table. No combustibles.
