For those of you that have an egg under a porch cover, does anyone have any issues with the smoke on the ceiling?

@nolaegghead did you build your TV enclosure? I have been thinking about building one of those on my deck for football seAson, but I wasn't sure how well the tv would hold up with the heat and rain
@slovelad Yep.  Fine with the rain.  You need to watch the heat from direct sunlight.  The back of mine faces south.  The first TV worked fine for years but the back plastic melted from the heat of the sun.  After I replaced the TV with another hand-me-down from the house, I put aluminum tape on the back as a radiant barrier.  I have a ventilation fan in it.  No problems with water.

What the heck kind of cat is that???  Never seen a cat that looked like that in my life!  Pretty cool!
@theophan - that's a Bengal.  We also have a polydactyl (AKA "Hemingway") cat that has "thumbs" - extra toes.  And three more running around.  Suffice it to say, they're for "advanced cat owners".  A handful.

Nothing noticable, I was expecting some but it seems OK. The porch is open on 2 sides and not that wide, so plenty of airflow around the Egg.

Still wet from pressure washing the house and deck in preparations to list house this week. Hopefully we can do a built in egging area in the new joint.

Interesting -- never heard of a Bengal cat.  Really interesting look.  Thanks!

Sure -- lots of people call me Theo.  And thanks!  I didn't build the table, but paid someone else to do it, but I really like the result.  I had regular wooden tables before that, but they didn't last, and I got nervous about fires on wooden tables after seeing some scary pictures on this forum, so I feel much safer, now, too.

There are a LOT of cool setups being displayed in this thread -- I'm envious!!!  :)

We are impractical Midwesterners who spent money on a boat and lake house 17 years ago. Somehow we get more than two months use tops out of them each year. Photo is of the Akorn Jr. because today's lunch cook didn't necessiate using the Egg.

Cool! Obviously my generalized opinion p*ssed you off. I certainly didn't mean anything against a beautiful lake side property like yours! I am sincerely jealous!

Nah. I haven't had any issues with staining. It's open on 3 sides and I have a ceiling fan for circulation too.

@tarheelmatt it's a bayou classic. I really liked it until I saw one of these in person. https://cajunfryer.com/product/single-basket-outdoor-cajun-deep-fryer-cooker/
