mojopin,
GrateMates are the answer as long as you don't need them immediately.

Morro Bay Rich,[p]Thank you! I knew they didn't make a platesetter for the small, would someone be unhappy with the small if they intended to ONLY smoke on the small BGE?[p]THanks,
Jill

mojopin,
WessB has some example of indirect cooks without Gratemates. It can be done. A second grid and some firebricks and your off to the races.

mojopin,
I bought a 12" plate setter along with a bisque tile plate a little larger diameter than the hole, get 2 they are cheap when shipping is included, to fit my small. Because their 12" has offset legs, I cut the legs off with a wet tile cutter and placed the round disc in the center and then wrapped with aluminum foil.. I then Split a full fire brick into 3 equal pieces to use as legs. This allows a 9 inch pie pan to fit within the 3 "legs" and the grid on top. Works great. Cost About$25, depending on shipping. Works just like my BGE platesetter on the large w/legs up.HTH.

mojopin,
You might like to look at the review I did of the GrateMates. It has photos of lots of different setups.[p]TNW

New to this small egg thing. I don't get mine 'till later this week. But, what about leaving the existing fire ring and grate in place, put a second fire ring and grate on top of that with a pizza stone on the lower grate?[p]Mike

Or, if not a pizza stone, maybe a cake pan filled with sand?[p]Mike
