The early generation of eggs had a top like that just slid open and closed, and then at some point they added the holes and the second damper and they started calling it the "Dual Function Metal Top".
I think sometime in the 90's but I don't know for sure. I know the company started in 74 but I think they were just importing kamados until the 90s when they started manufacturing.Which came first the chicken or the egg? I egged the chicken and then I ate his leg. -
