I'm not an expert, but I've read 4 hours.

Last week I held a brisket for almost 7-8 hours. I put boiling water I warmed in a tea kettle in cooler first for a bit and then drained and wiped it out. Then I put a towel in the bottom of cooler and wrapped brisket in foil a few times and then wrapped it in two towels and put in cooler. Then I put more towels on top crumpled up to fill up as much space as possible. Was still warm when sliced and served!

A good cooler will hold it for hours..or put your oven on the lowest setting, usually 170 put it there for a couple hours then FTC so you don't Crock Pot itVisalia, Ca @lkapigian

Think it's more of a how long can your cooler hold temp question“There are three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who has the same first name as a city; and never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body.”

I'm with @lkapigian here. 9 hours is a stretch even with all the prep work described by @dgordon2nc. If you go the oven route , make sure they are tightly wrapped or you will lose a lot of moisture.
BTW-great looking bark on that brisket. Enjoy the follow-on eats.Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. Life is too short for light/lite beer! Seems I'm livin in a transitional period. CHEETO (aka Agent Orange) makes Nixon look like a saint. -
I did my butts yesterday, pulled them and put in the fridge until needed this afternoon. I'm going to use @Florida Grillin Girl's suggestion of how to reheat found in this thread - http://eggheadforum.com/discussion/1206627/need-help-with-a-cook-for-a-pool-party-saturday-the-24th#latest

I held mine for almost 7 hours in a good cooler. The temp was still 150. 140 is the magic temp. Don't let it go below that. Here's a good Naked Whiz description.Love cooking on my XL BGE for 2, 12, or 100!

It turned out great I had two 9x13 aluminum pans and each was over 3/4 full. You recipe worked great on. The taste was awesome but you really couldn't tell there was sauce on it.
I did make one change: I didn't have enough white vinegar so I used red wine vinegar.

@SaintJohnsEgger - that's what I like about that sauce, it helps moisten the pork and enhances the flavor of it. I'm glad you liked it.Happily egging on my original large BGE since 1996... now the owner of 5 eggs. Call me crazy, everyone else does!
