Medium Cast Iron Ash Grate Bites Big One

As the title indicate, today the cast iron grate down in the firebox of my Medium broke into at least 3 pieces. I immediately went to the nearest dealer which is also the point of original purchase, Blossman Gas. Naturally they only had a replacement for a medium on hand through their floor demo model was....a medium. Tomorrow I will be near Phillips Hardware in Gulfport and will check to see if they have a replacement on hand(not hopeful) . If I have to order one, is there a better option available?
I dearly wish that we had a dealer within 40 miles that did it as their primary business. It sucks rocks that I knew more about Green Eggs when I bought my first one, said medium, then the so called Approved Dealer.

I know you are looking for a replacement under warranty but for years before I switched to the Kick Ash Basket I just used a cast iron floor drain from a plumbing supply store.Re-gasketing the USA one yard at a time

I don't believe the lump grate has lifetime warranty.
But I would put in the cash and buy a Kick Ash Basket or at least a High Que grate. Treat yourself...

The actual kick ash site has the same price as the CGS but they also offer Meat Church Rubs for $9.95. The CGS has the same price but they offer the Woo to replace my three brick set up. Amazon offer it for $10.00 more and it is not a Prime item meaning no matter where I order from I will be paying shipping.. Didn't medium sizes change somewhere after I bought my medium in 2009? 90% chance my credit card will be smoking. Thanks for all help in running up my Visa! Green Egg, not only is it a pit that you throw money into but it helpfully incinerates it!. Seriously thanks for all replies.

Does that first one mean that I wouldn't have to buy a separate Woo? It would raise the grill grate to what used to be felt high?Photo Egg said:I don't believe the lump grate has lifetime warranty.

My fire grates are in the garage. Somewhere. One with little use, one with no use. KAB would be my choice.

Sorry, no. The first link is to the kick ash and it only replaces the lump grate.Gulfcoastguy said:

It holds your lump and allows you to lift it out and shake the ash then drop it back in the Egg where you top it off with more lump.If you purchase a Woo, you can use a pizza stone as your deflector/indirect piece and not buy a platesetter.Thank you,DarianGalveston Texas -
It seems that there are two sizes of medium. That doesn't matter for the basket but it does for the Woo.

High-Que grate has been in my MBGE since about the second fire....and that was over five years ago. Very good product.Delta B.C. - Whiskey and steak, because no good story ever started with someone having a salad!
