APL Competition Chicken Thigh cook time?

I'm looking at APL's Competition Chicken thigh recipe and he cooks the thighs at 300F for 2 hours. That seems way too long to me. Anybody else?

I've done this recipe once, and followed it to the letter. That's the total time they're on at that temp but there's a break of 15 min when they're off.
I think they cook fine. I just remember not being psyched about the flavor in the end. I thought they were good, not great like most APL recipes."I've made a note never to piss you two off." - Stike

thanks @JohnInCarolina. The recipe itself isn't that impressive but seems solid. I'm looking for something relatively simple for a large crowd that isn't a pork shoulder.

Because you're doing a shoulder already, or you just want something different?CarolinaCrazy said:thanks @JohnInCarolina. The recipe itself isn't that impressive but seems solid. I'm looking for something relatively simple for a large crowd that isn't a pork shoulder.
If it's the latter, I'd recommend his pork loin with cilantro and garlic."I've made a note never to piss you two off." - Stike

I'm doing Ribs already, so i want some chicken to go w/ it.
"Pork Shoulder" is just what I'd expect to hear from many when cooking for a crowd.
I like that pork loin.
