Dehydrator questions

my son got me a dehydrator for my birthday. And I know nothing about them other than they can be used to make jerky.

Anyone got any tips, suggestions or recipes? I would love to tie this into my egg cooking adventures. Maybe use it for making bacon or sausage

Thanks.

Either grow or purchase peppers when they are cheap and dry them for rub ingredients. Go o exalibur dehydrators site on line has over 400 pages of recipes.

    Fixed it for you.
Honestly, jerky is all I use mine for, but it's well worthwhile.

Thank you for posting this.  I married into one of these and used it once, just recently for some lemon thyme salt.  Looking forward to trying some of these out!

I have a very cheap Nesco dehydrater. With that said, if you will use their hamburger meat recipe and spice kit, you can make some of the best jerky that you have ever had. 5 pounds for about 3 bucks. Give or take a little depending on the price of hamburger meat in your area.
I was skeptical of the recipe until I tried it. It made a believer out of me.
I still use my Vault as a dehydrator when doing real large batches. However for small batches the little Nesco is far more practical and easy to use.

I know that I'm probably the odd man out here, but fish jerky is one of my absolute favorites. Give this ago and see what you think.

You are welcome. I plan to use mine to dehydrate an unexpectedly plentiful onion crop in the next two or three weeks.
