How to convince them...?

When I purchased my MBGE, in November, I travelled around looking for the best price I could find. I didn't want to settle on any Komodo grill, I HAD to get an EGG. Anywho , I found a sale that saved me around 150$ on the EGG, nest, and coveggtor. I called my local store and asked if they would match the price I was getting, because I like to deal with the mom and pop shops before the corporate stores. I was given a solid "No". So I bought it on sale from another store.
Since then I have purchased a few accessories from my local store and have talked to the employees and shared some grub with them.
I have mentioned to them about getting their boss to have a small EGG cook demonstration, to show off the versatility of the EGG, and maybe drum up some sales.
Still getting a solid "NO" from the owner, or sometimes he just walks away without commenting.
Any ideas on how to get him to think about doing a small demonstration?

I'm curious as to the motive in getting them to have a demonstration? What's your angle? Why do you care? No offense... Just trying to understand your strong desire for them to do this.

Never a good idea to tell a business person how to run their business. Its his business, not yours.

In cooking, often we implement steps for which we have no explanations other than ‘that’s what everybody else does’ or ‘that’s what I have been told.’  Dare to think for yourself.

Very nice of you to be interested, but the folks you are trying to help do not want the help.

Maybe BGE is a small % of their revenue, maybe they have tried it in the past with poor results, maybe they spend advertising $ elsewhere, maybe they just have to many irons in the fire, and maybe they hate BGE.  Who knows, but in the end you extended an invitation and it was declined. Find another dealer who fits your personality instead of forcing this shop to change.

If you want to support a Mom and Pop store locally then buy from them. If they don't shift volume then they don't have the scope for discounts and probably get fed up with people asking them to price match.

I could say it is purely for selfish reasons, to have a local store that supports the BGE experience. Not expecting any outrageous discounts if they start doing demonstrations, but I know that the employees don't know very much about cooking on the EGGs that they are supposed to be selling. From what I have heard , they have only sold 1 EGG since November, and what few accessories they stock has been hanging on the rack for a very long time.
In other words, I have no idea why I have been pushing this with them, just kinda latched on to the idea and ran with it.
I will be leaving it alone, and just travel to the shops I know that do put on demo's.

I did demo cooks 5-6 times for an old friend at his garden center where I bought my eggs. It was fun, but it's hit or miss as far as crowds, sales, etc. If the staff is clueless and not into it I wouldn't bother. Just my .02

@PoppasGrill your heart is in the right spot.  If you know your product it is easy to sell.  I had a friend who just brought eggs into his shop.  I happened to be in for something else.  I saw a guy looking at grills.  I wondered over and started chatting.  After 20 minutes I had sold two grills to two different people.
