i need to replace my gasket on my XL BGE and my mini max. Does anyone no the size of the gasket not length but actual diameter so it fits my egg perfectly. Are they the same on the mini Max and XL I have used the gasket on wood stove doors countless times but need various sizes to accommodate different stoves. I have some gaskets laying around wonder if it might work. Thanks in advance

Just order from @RRP . His prices are great and support is top notch.

Ron is the only way to go....

Well I might have to but I got several rolls of Rutland laying in my shop where I did repairs on wood stoves if I have the size I really hate to waste the money to order what I already have

Yes but it flattens out also you can work it out to be perfectly flat

It seems to me that the round is frowned upon. I couldn't say why, just passing along my recollections. Someone else may remember.Phoenix -
The stuff used is a flat (or oval I guess) gasket. I assume it gets a better seal against the flat lid. It's bunched up during install. So I guess if you have some laying around, then I try a few and see what fits the edge width the best.

@Danny71 5/8 Flat is what you want.

I installed one of the Rutland gaskets from RRP. Ron has unbeatable prices. Don't know what I did wrong...used hi temp RTV. Did a few lower temperature cooks. All was well. Put it on our older XL, it has a cracked base. Had a brain cramp and left the exhaust open in a down pour. Had all sorts of funknown fuzzy stuff growing. Lit a barn burner of a fire to clean it out...So much for the hi temp rtv...

when that round tube type flattens it will continue to move and rub against itself upon each opening and closing meaning it will wear down and destroy itself. The flat braided style will stay put when properly embedded in the adhesive.Danny71 said:Yes but it flattens out also you can work it out to be perfectly flatRe-gasketing the USA one yard at a time -
If you have rolls of it just laying around I'd cut a chunk off and cut off the excess.............PI x D will get you close to what you needVisalia, Ca @lkapigian

not sure what diameters you have, but would two smaller diameters work? Lay them next to each other on the base like an inner ring and an outer ring?Large, Medium, MiniMax, 36" Blackstone

XL takes 9' of the 5/8" FLAT Rutland. Trust me.
-
LOL - I wonder who figured that out and told you as the circumference is much less, but 9 feet is in fact the correct answer!littlerascal56 said:XL takes 9' of the 5/8" FLAT Rutland. Trust me.Re-gasketing the USA one yard at a time -
