just courious about burn time at 250-275 on a medium. Looking to do a butt and brisket in the next few weeks. Not at the same time. I've recently added a KAB to my setup. Left bottom grate in. Looks to burn much hotter than prior to kab. Thanks. Not sure if lump matters but I'll be using rock wood

I bury the KAB in my medium. Like right to the top of the fire ring for a brisket. Bottom grate can get clogged on a long low n slow. I don't run mine with basket. YRMV. I've gone 14 hours and still had lump left.

Have to ask, what is a KAB and what is it's purpose? Thanks

Kick Ash Basket @johnnyringo lets you pull all the charcoal out, shake the basket to rid the ash and set back in the egg.

Also increases bottom vent airflow which is helpful in some of the smaller eggs. Someone with a medium might get great benefit from the added airflow.

I don't have a KAB in my medium, but I do have a high-que grate. I easily can go 14-16 hours at 250 - 275 degrees.

KAB seems to be worth it. Not sure how long run time will be. Haven't tried a real long low and slow yet.Madison, AL

you should be fine on burn times. when I had my medium I would take a tape measure to the grocery store to make sure the briskets fit........got some strange looks now and then for some reason......
