Ribeyes and Filets

My parents have a few cows. Every six months or so they send one off to the processer, so I get to clean out whatever is left from the last one (as well as some of the new stuff). Anyway. I went up this weekend to take my son for a visit. Came out with 3-4 packs of each, New York Strips, Ribeyes, and Filets... as well as hamburger meet. My fridge is very full, so tonight I thought we'd have a filet and a ribeye each. Will have a sweet potato and broccoli with it. Will post finished pictures later.

BTW anyone that lives in the Panama City, FL ever go to Angelos? I bought some seasoning there back in October, works really well on Steak.

Pretty good indeed. Little Caesar salad. Steamed broccoli. Sweat tater. I ate the Ribeye, my wife ate the filet. I use my cast iron from my minimax on my xl from time to time if I don't think I have enough room. Thanks for looking guys!

Nicely done.  I love the taste of "fresh beef".  There is just something about it that tastes better than most store bought.

Yes they do. We ate there back in October. I don't remember ever eating there before then. The décor is from the 70s/80s but the food is really good. I think they cook over hickory wood coals.

I only buy store bought when I want a cut of meat that my parents don't get from the slaughter house, flats, flanks, etc. I haven't bought store bought hamburger in my life time.  I did ask them for briskets this time. I think I got a couple of brisket flats. I will have to thaw them and see, definitely not packer briskets.
