I've had an electric smoker for years, but recently the probe was no longer working and it would blow the breaker ever so often. I decided to talk the wife into me getting a kamado smoker. I thought she'd choke at the price of the BGE, so I showed her a picture of a Vision grill at Home Depot. I explained that the BGE was more expensive. She said "Why don't yo just get the BGE." I said "OK. I'll be right back, I have to run to the store."
She was a little shocked when 2 hours later, they delivered by BGE assembled.
Anyhow, I cooked a 13.6# waygu brisket for my first cook. I expected it to take longer, but 9 hours and 45 minutes later, it was done to 200 deg F. I wrapped it in a towel and put it in the cooler for 3 hours and we had it for lunch instead of dinner. Everyone went bonkers for it!!!!
This was only my third full brisket, but my first without a Texas Crutch. It was amazing!!
