plate setter

I broke one of the legs off of my plate setter yesterday and will need to replace it asap.

I noticed that Lava Lock has one the correct size for the lbge.  Anyone on here have one from Lava Lock?

If you have an AR, you don't need PS. I haven't used my PS since AR.

If by chance you decide to buy another plate setter, look into a Woo, this is what I use - i haven't touched my plate setter in a couple years as its always inside it.

thanks to all for responding.  it's much appreciated.

Here is one more option.  if your egg is a large and the platesetter broke clean at the leg. you can get the PSWoo or PSWoo-CI.  It should work as long as the platesetter can rest on the 3 half moon loops on the lower leg......

I just bought an AR combo for my XL in order to maximize the amount of meat that I can smoke at once.  My intention this weekend was to put in the PS, the OEM grill grate and the AR on top of the OEM grate.  The intention was to put meat on both levels of the AR and on the original grate using the PS as the heat deflector.  Are you saying this won't work?  I have nearly 60 people to feed so that would be bad news!

I have used this exact setup and it works fine. Three levels of cooking on an XL gives you plenty of room.

if your xl egg is only a couple years old, then the xl rig can be used in conjunction with bge's platesetter for multi-grid or super high in the dome cooks.   platesetter in the 3 notches.

The older eggs with original dome and 2" drop from fire ring to felt have can't do this set-up.
