Pulled wild hog

just got back from a trip to Texas. Shot a tiny oinker. I got greedy trying to get two with one shot. Missed the big one in front and only got the little one behind it. Any way a front and rear quarter going on the egg now. More updates to follow

The meat will taste better from the smaller hog anyways. I dont like to eat any over 150 lbs.

About ready to pull and wrap to let rest. Reading 203 but not tender enough to pull.

Wild butt...nice.
Let us know now if it pulls. Sometimes I have to drop the heat in the 190s for a while or I have to slice it."Brought to you by bourbon, bacon, and a series of questionable life decisions."

Awesome!

Looks fantastic, but waiting on the final taste results and report on pulling difficulty.

Taste is great. Has a stronger flavor then farm raised pork but not gamey, like a venison or lamb roast. It was just shy of being pulled so I put it in a pan with some apple juice and brown sugar , covered with foil and back on the egg. Let's see if that gets it to shred.

Pan and foil did the trick. Pulled perfect after that.

Awesome cook. I usually foil my wild hogs after I get some decent bark. That lean meat dries out pretty fast. Seems like you accomplished the same thing with a slightly different approach. Well done.

Adapt , improvise and overcome. I have only had me BGE for a little over 6 months but you can do some pretty cool things with it.
