Hello all,
I am the happy new owner of a used large big green egg. My first cook was on Super Bowl Sunday. 275 for 6 hours and bumped up to 300 for a faster finish. No foil. I think it turned out pretty well! I'll be back at it this weekend. Not sure what the second cook will be...

Nice first cook. Welcome!

Excellent job on your first cook. Did you use any of that Stubbs?

Great start to what hopefully will be a long and rewarding journey (props to @lousubcap)
Just one little thing, move all of your savings you have now into checking. Welcome to wallet genocide. Becoming an owner of a BGE is the least expensive aspect of owning an egg. You will see Franklins do two things: fly and vanish.
Welcome to the mosh pit of outdoor recreation, have fun, as that is the most important part, and know your clichés for why you are always broke, i.e., "You can't take it with you", "It's only money", etc. Rationalizations such as these are important, for the peripheral purchases you will be making, whether it is the Costco box of foil, or as in my case, getting the entire kitchen redone. (Don't even get me started).
