Freeze or no freeze

Have a package of New York strips from Costco.
The sell by date is yesterday, 1/25.
Hosting friends Saturday night, 1/28.
Should I freeze and food saver or should I just leave them in the fridge till Saturday night?

Never mind, just found out company is requesting ribs, so in the freezer they went.
Carry on.

As long as you get them in the freezer by midnight 1/25 (I allow a few minutes extra because I like to live dangerously) they will not immediately turn bad and cause extreme food poisoning.
