Saw an ad for Patton's Meat Market in Duluth,Ga selling Prime Briskets for $3.99. Thats unheard of in Ga.
Just figures a deal like that would happen just after I fill my cooler with 3 frozen Costco prime packers and fly back with it from Detroit!

Used to drive right past it and never knew it was there until I just looked it up. Work from home now so guess I won't be able to catch that deal.

Is there any difference in a CAB prime vs. just USDA Prime that Costco sell? Wondering if the CAB is better quality?Milton, GA

My understanding is that CAB is just a brand. They claim that they only take the "top" of each grade. So, their "choice" is the best of choice, prime is the best of prime.GoooDawgs said:Is there any difference in a CAB prime vs. just USDA Prime that Costco sell? This may just be marketing
. If you find USDA prime and it appears to have good marbeling I wouldn't go out of my way to pick up CAB prime.
I still think this is a great deal for Atlanta residence who can't get Prime brisket anywhere else without taking a flight to Detroit

I guess I am stopping on the way home. This site costs me more money..._________________________________________________Don't let the truth get in the way of a good story!Large BGE 2006, Mini Max 2014, 36" Blackstone, Anova Sous Vide

I called earlier they said something about joining their mailing list for the special. Did it say $6.99 was the special price?JRWhitee said:At pattons meat market 5the Briskets are $6.99lb. NOT 3.99 -

They don't ask but they recognize me so not sure.

Gotta be honest. I like brisket for sure, but pickling it and making corned beef and Pastrami has been my favorite treatment of that cut.Sandy Springs & Dawsonville Ga

Those are among the very best. Nothing better for that price. I like them as much as SRF. They are beefier but not as tender. I buy every one I see. They pop up in my store every once in a while. That is a score right there.Keepin' It Weird in The ATX FBTX

Where are you finding prime packers at costco? I go to the Alpharetta and the Cumming costco and have never seen them. All they have are choice flats.GoooDawgs said:Is there any difference in a CAB prime vs. just USDA Prime that Costco sell? Atlanta Costco does not carry packer briskets, I did pick up one of these at Pattons today, you have to mention the email and they take off at the register. Shelf price is $6.99, I got $3.99 at the register._________________________________________________Don't let the truth get in the way of a good story!Large BGE 2006, Mini Max 2014, 36" Blackstone, Anova Sous Vide

@danv23 - @GoooDawgs mentioned in another thread he imported Prime packers from a Costco in Detroit. I agree they are not available around us. I am in Woodstock so it would be silly for me to drive 2 hour round trip but I might just do it anyway.danv23 said:
