LOL! Awesome post. Now I want a hot dog. Thanks for answering with the details. I think I'll cook mine the same way.

In a prior life, hot dogs were often referred to as "tube steaks." True banquet food.Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. Life is too short for light/lite beer! Seems I'm livin in a transitional period. CHEETO (aka Agent Orange) makes Nixon look like a saint.

No question of it. Anus has been used as a flavor enhancer since time immemorial.Legume said:
I'd be willing to bet more than a few brands of hot dog have anus in them already.SGH said:

There used to be a very successful defense lawyer here who we would often see at our favorite steakhouse with his wife. He would order a huge New York strip and then completely cover it with catsup. His wife was a bit of a loud mouth lush and depending on her state of drunkenness would sometimes yell at him G*D DAMMIT, Harold, you're making a fvcking fool out of yourself!Re-gasketing the USA one yard at a time

Be careful, man! I've got a beverage here.

What's with the ketchup hating? Plenty of references on here to people putting ketchup on chips (fries to you), which is only beaten in crimes against chips by dipping them in mayonaise.
-
I completely agree. The only way to eat chips is to dip them in ketchup and mayo mixed together.Eoin said:What's with the ketchup hating? What kind of casing?
Is there any mechanically separated meat in it? Can you tell the difference?
What smoke did you use?
Is that a cast iron grate?
Did you apply a rub? If so, which?
What kind of buns did you use?
Do you ever put ketchup or relish on them?
How many did you eat?
What was the temp outside?
What kind of knife if that?
What lump did you use?
Did you close the lid when you cooked them?
Sorry if some of these questions are redundant.
Thanks in advance.

Does anyone put mayonnaise on their hot dogs? Sometimes I like to mix ketchup and mayo into a tasty pink gelatinous treat. @nolaegghead

if you look closely you'll see that i did. Mayo on a dog is awesome. I think that I am going to try miracle whip for all of my mayo needs in the future. Tired of the same old food lube.PirateBill said:Does anyone put mayonnaise on their hot dogs? Sometimes I like to mix ketchup and mayo into a tasty pink gelatinous treat. @nolaegghead

If you're eating a regular hotdog, they're almost flavorless anyway. put whatever you want on them. If you're doing brats or italian sausage or chorizo, don't even try it. Quality mustard, onions, and maybe relish are all that are accepted!Memphis TN - Large Green Egg

looks good, I will say that I am starting to broaden my horizons with hot dog toppings. Since I am on a health kick I have started trying spinach puree mixed with kale (this is a slimy green treat to any who would like to try, I call it the green torpedo) I have also tried Ez Cheeze on my cheat day (Ez Cheeze is my go to cheese topping when egging) Mix that Ez Cheeze with some ketchup and you got yourself an all American meal.MaC122 said:

I used to hit Chicago often on business, and it took me awhile to try the standard "Chicago Dog":
