Received The Smokeware Chimney Cap today. Now I don't have to dodge the rain any longer.

They suggest you use the dishwasher. Wonder if it really cuts the grime.XL BGE ~ XL AR ~ XL WOO ~ 20" grate ~ 17.5" stone ~ slide guides ~ Oval grate ~ 18" drip pan ~ Thermapen MK4 ~ SmokeWare SS chimney cap ~ Weber blue tooth thermometer

Ill give it a shot but not expecting good results.sjm1027 said:They suggest you use the dishwasher. Wonder if it really cuts the grime. -
I assume that means you do a lot of low and slows and/or an excessive amount of wood for smoke. About every 18 months my SW cap needs a cleaning and I have found Easy Off oven cleaner sprayed outdoors is the best method.Gravytrain84 said:I love my sw cap but it sure gets dirty quickly.Re-gasketing the USA one yard at a time -
I used mine just last week during a rainstorm. It made me so excited that I didn't have to build a mini shelter anymore

My top has never need cleaning. Mostly due to the fact that I don't care since it's a grill part.

Had my first venture with mine this morning. Smoking cheese and had heavy rain from the time I started till I finished. Knew there was a reason I bought one !

I throw mine in the dishwasher whenever I remember to and have space (take the rubber tab cover off of the top) - it gets rid of the big stuff and cleans it sufficiently to prevent sticking.sjm1027 said:They suggest you use the dishwasher. Actually Ron that is how I purchased it. I have Amazon Prime and they didn't offer it so I went to the source. I received it in 3 days. Very nice product. Will fire up the egg over this weekend and whip up some meaty goodness for the Patriots game!!RRP said:

Nope. Though saying "Go Texans" seems a bit futile.sjm1027 said:
