What size?

drill a hole and add a small eyebolt.
I hate it when I go to the kitchen for food and all I find are ingredients!

I like my smokeware. For the record, I am not a hater of the daisy. It does exactly what it's supposed to do and the rain thing is minimal annoyance at best. The SW cap stays on mine all the time. Just one less thing i fiddle with. I would buy one before replacing my daisy. FWIW

There's absolutely nothing wrong with the OE DFMT. I like the SW top and can dial it in the same as the DFMT. Preference for me is the SW for a variety of reasons. Go with what you're comfortable using.

SW cap only way to go ... upgrading from the Daisy wheel to the SW Cap is like dragging yourself out of a third world muck hole directly into the Biltmore. Plus it has magical powers that put you on even playing ground with BBQ greats.

The same thing happened to me, the advice I was given on here was to bend the wire through the remaining hole to create a loop.
That worked great until I got round to replacing it.Large BGE, Mini Max

If you like the Daisy wheel stick with it you can get a cheap replacement. The main reason I got the SW Cap was for when it is raining or snowing. It seems like I have done a few cooks when it is going to rain or snow it was a pain having to get up to open up the DW when it was raining. It just be me, but I feel my XL flows better and gets to temp faster with the cap the the DW. The DW would always move a little when I would pick up the lid, even when I positioned so it shouldn't. I got mine for Christmas last year and bought the flat cap to go with it and it works great to me.XL, WSM, Coleman Road Trip Gas GrillKansas City, Mo.

You do not need a DW at all. Have 4 Eggs and ZERO DW's. All control is done from the bottom. I assume they are in the garage somewhere.
I use the ceramic top to cut off the Egg.Salado TX & 30A FL: Egg Family: 3 Large and a very well used Mini, added a Mini Max when they came out (I'm good for now). Just given a Mini to add to the herd. -

I have SW caps on my large and small eggs. Love them both. I was not a fan of the daisy wheel caps, since they were not bourbon proof i.e. once the cook has been marinated with a sufficient quantity of bourbon, daisy wheel settings inexplicably change. Somehow, the SW caps don't do that.
But if you love the daisy wheel, it seems that more than 1 person has offered to send you one. Cost of shipping will likely be less than buying a SW cap.

@Mickey, I still haven't tried a 250° cook without the dfmt. Can you hold a temp that low with just the bottom? Or, since you turbo everything, have you never tried it either?Mickey said:You do not need a DW at all. Have 4 Eggs and ZERO DW's. All control is done from the bottom. He is a firm believer in Turbo. I witnessed him cooking on 3 Eggs at the same time at his house. All cookers were blazing and smoking away. He turned out at least 10 plates full of food in 30 minutes. He did not look like he was having an ounce of fun, he was all business but the food was fantastic and everyone was eating at the same time. He's got Turbo game.Carolina Q said:

I bought the SW cap..... I won't do it again.
Thing gets filthy. I also have to clean it with oven cleaner every few weeks or it will stick and make it very hard to open.
