I cannot make this stuff up.
https://youtu.be/cfHkuPOKRlQ
Was drivin' in Taylor Ridge, sun coming up over the fields, sippin' the morning coffee, and the radio DJ says today is the day.
Christmas Night was spent at my Italian adopted mother's house, a scaled down Vigil 3 course, an Italian-American family tradition. Wish I would've taken pics. A very special night, with food served by her, and her DIL.
Last night one of my brothers invited me over for dinner. He said guests in India are treated like God. They too, made me feel like one, no doubt.
We started off with Bhujia and Dalwhinnie 15 yr, and sliced red onion and tomaters with sea salt. Bhujia and Dalwhinnie are a dangerous combo, fire. His 14 month old son Skipper was going to town on the bhujia, brought one of many smiles to my face. Then after a few glasses, we went on to the main.
Not one piece of overrated, overpriced, overcooked protein was used. Proportions were great with a full plate, vibrant colors, flavorful, so full of life.
Chapati, Dal, beans, rice/peas, cheese. They told me to tear the chapati in pieces, using it as a platform. No fancy pastry holly and berry polishing. No candles. No fancy plateware, utensils.
Divine

Dessert was Kheer, a warm rice dish with nuts. The sweet rice, crunch from the nuts, and lemony cardamon was pleasant.

After dinner, he gifted me with a bottle of Laphroaig (again the beautiful irony), bhujia, some Kheer for my son. The Kohl's gift card was from my Italian adopted mother.
Not bad for a nutty, sauced up, lonely, fruitcake.

The Laphroaig will be a nice warm up while tending the Karubecue for my 40th.
So, so, blessed, to be surrounded by such, kind-hearted, smart, humble, loving people...know-it-alls that don't. My kind of peeps to cherish and love in the circle.
Before you read my ePalm, and judge me by my marital status (which isn't the first time here shockingly), I have one simple request....
Walk with me first brothers.
As always,
Thanks for lookin'.

I've been called a fruit cake among other worse things in my sixty years. Friend is probably the thing I like being called the most.
Seems like you have plenty of those. And when you can call relatives friend then you have the best of both worlds.

Great post Brandon! Happy 40th coming up I guess? As the old man says, "beats the alternative". That's some serious scotch drinkers scotch you got there. Make sure you toast all the enlightened and tolerant ones on the B day bash. Enjoy my friend.

Happy New Year.
He referred to me as his brother, and I did him.
We've been through some serious stuff together. It's feels great to have people walk into your life with the same heart, passion, and drive for doing good.
Happy New Year to you and yours as well.BrandonQuad Cities

i like the part about not judging people...
that's an excellent rule to try to live by. i'm glad you are able to do it.
for what it is worth (nothing, i know), i've had my fair share of people who(m) i've never met deciding to tee off on me, for no apparent reason, too. following me around on the forum, making digs. not sure what i did to them, despite point blank asking them. they don't seem to have a reason other than that they like to instigate and mock. if they had an actual reason for having started the foolishness, i would have gladly have hashed it out.
two can play that game, right? so what i do is: don't initiate, but when some jackwad flexes his keyboard, feel free to reply in just as insipid a fashion.
unfortunately though, for some reason, they seem to think my reply to their attack is itself an attack rather than retaliatory, but that's because they don't see themselves as the instigator. but that's their problem, right?
so if i can offer any advice, unless they have the manhood to explain what their issue is, so you can resolve it like men, i usually just let it slide. granted, i like to take potshots at them once in a while, because it can be fun. getting down in the mud and all... and frankly, they tend to be bad enough at it that it is pretty funny.
remember too, the stuff they attack usually says a great deal about them. oddly, they get all upset if you reply in-kind. don't let that trouble you.
suggesting someone "walk with me" and all that, very inciteful. again, i am glad you are able to do it and are never guilty of random BS and snippy attack. you are a better man than most apparently. good on you.
don't let the idiots get you down.

She was banged up in delivery, different wheels. He returned an email sent the night of July 3rd, by personal cell on the morning of the Fourth. Good guy.
