Bourbon aficionados!!! Looking for Weller 12yo

My nephew is looking for a few bottles of this rare bottling. I'm calling on the cult in an effort to locate some. Anyone one in the Bourbon County or surrounding know of any? Thanks in advance.

Texas, Oklahoma and Kansas are your best bets, those are the markets that built the Weller brand initially and BT continues to serve those markets demands first, then others.

Call a Specs or a Goody Goody store and see if they have it in stock.

have you tried your local place to see if they would order for you. our nh liquor store usually can get anything. new hire here from bosnia wanted his bosnian plum and pear brandy, he asked and its in 65 stores here now. this was a bad thing, now i get handed a 12 ounce glass of rot gut and commanded YOU DRINK in bosnian which sounds very similar to a heavy russian accent

@fishlessman it's a limited supply thing. I think whatever is out on the shelves is it. I'm gonna tell him to pick another BT offering!

A few of my local stores in MA are doing a raffle for a chance to buy it, along with Pappy and other rare offerings.

the raffles are free through email.

a lot of places price gorge big time.

this gives consumers a chance to buy at retail price.

maybe some of your local joints are doing the same.

Ya, tall order. I thought I could score some PVW 23 reserve through a close friend in Louisville. Including a nice finders fee. Couldn't make it happen. Good luck in your quest Pete!!

im actually surprised they dont have it in my nh store, if your looking for a substitute they do have a bottle of glen grant 50 yr for 13999.00 dollars a bottle, its better than some of their more expensive stuff off the shelf

Checked a few places in Austin, all said they get it inconsistently, but when they do, it goes in a couple of days. I wouldn't mind picking one up myself, I like the wheated bourbons.

I would try calling larger stores in Kansas, maybe they could ship or worst case, you're only a state or so away, click your heels. That's roadtrip worthy if you find someone that would hold a couple of bottles for you.

I've had good luck finding the Special Reserve at drug stores like RA. I have never seen RA stock the 12 yr though. I've talked to a couple of larger liquor stores like LB and am on their mailing list. LB gets shipments in for the 12 year and they tell you by email when they are coming. Problem being, everyone gets the emails and they fly off the shelves in 2 days. There is less competition for the bottles at smaller stores without mailing lists. I'd ask a smaller store to special order it for you and maybe reserve it.

LB also tells you when they get pappy in stock via their mailing list. It's great since they sell it so cheap ($75-120 depending on the year), but people line up outside the store for days for it after they see the email. This has been the only way I've ever been able to get the good stuff...

before I was a bourbon drinker, I spent a few years looking for it as a gift for my BIL. A local liquor store got every different bottling in stock. idiot, I bought one bottle for him. I'll never find it again.

(on the positive side, I've had it and don't think it's worth more than it's retail price. eagle rare is plenty good enough for me. )

my BIL in California says it's very expensive if you can find it out there, definitely some profit hiking by merchants. online here in Tx is shows like $25. his comment was it's good, but not expensive good, more the idea of it because it's rare.

@Ladeback69 good luck finding Wellers 12 in Missouri. It was released last month. You would have better luck finding Pappy. It was released here on Tuesday. Just an fwi.
