no longer a FireCraft virgin!

Went shopping for a one of my favorite Dizzy Pig (Cow Lick) rubs only to be told "nobody buys that so they don't carry it anymore". So I checked DP site itself and saw the price plus the shipping charge. For the first time ever I looked at FireCraft and found it cheaper, plus FREE shipping so I ordered 2 Cow Licks & 2 Raging Rivers. Price made a believer out of me! I assume this is fresh and not nearly expired to be getting such a deal.

Great move @RRP -  but you have been around long enough to know how people work with "assume".  I hope your instincts are right.  I have had great success with Firecraft but only with their lump offerings.  Their carrier is the five letter company vs. the three letter company and for me that is a negative.  But no choice.
BTW- I have some strong feelings about "assume". It is the word I have wanted banished from the language for longer than I can remember.  It is an enabler, interpret things as you want/wish them to be and used by most as a way to avoid the reality of the situation and let them default to a place that is good regardless of any facts.  I'm sure that is not the case here but given a Friday bourbon fueled evening, there you are.  FWIW-

If I had some money I would do the same thing. Sadly my broke a$$ has been forced to live off of handouts for the past 8 years. However that will all change come January 20th =)

@SGH - way to surface and lay it out there.  After all, you don't need to retreat to your Caribbean island hideaway now.  All is well with the world at least til reality sets in.  The whine meter has never been wound so tight!

On a serious note brother Cap, now that Trump has won I am no doubt buying a getaway in the Caribbean. I was scared to let go off the money with the possibility of a Clinton presidency looming large over the land.
With Obingo on the way out, and no chance of Hillary coming in, money should not be a problem my friend.

Congrats.  Glad you will have the opportunity to enjoy all you have worked to achieve.  However, given the $$ consuming appetite of the Fed gubmint I hope your instincts are on point.  But what's life if not a crap-shoot??

With Obingo on the way out

Serious question: does the name "Obingo" mean anything other than a reference to his being black? Is it a conflation of 'Obama' and 'Mandingo' for example?

i am hoping i'm missing a more benign origin for it, but i am scorchingly ignorant in this area

seen it a few times, here and elsewhere. And never sure what the takeaway is supposed to be

    thanks in advance

It honestly does not have anything to do with his blackness. It's simply a show of disrespect and hatred for him. It's akin to folks changing Trump to Drump.

@RRP I have been ordering the DP rubs from firecraft the last couple of years since I noticed they are cheaper than anywhere else and yes they are fresh.

I have a serious question in return. Does he even qualify as a true black? If he is telling the truth, his mother is white. With that said, could someone argue that he is white instead of black? Or does the black automatically cancel out the white? How does all of that work?

Never had cow lick, I need to try some. But man that raging river is great stuff. We use it on salmon all the time and everyone is happy.

Try that raging river on some ribs and chicken. And Cow Lick is great on steaks, and I'm going to probably use it on some chuck roasts tomorrow.

We love RR on chicken and pork as well! As for CL that is one of their best selling rubs.

I ordered one of their sampler packs awhile back. I'll have to see if the CL was in it. I think we like RR and the pineapple one so much I forgot about the others.

In all seriousness, I don't think that brother Felldown was actually trolling. Maybe rocking the boat, but not trolling. It's something that most folks do from time to time. I'm even guilty of it on real rare occasions.

Look on the positive side. This post had fell to the 4th page. Only had a little over 200 views. I hijacked it and it's on the first page and approaching 700 views. Sometimes a littke hijacking is a good thing. And I agree, Ron is a great guy. He has never had a problem with my hijacking. He actually welcomes it.

I apologize for interjecting, didn't realize Ron welcomed his threads being hijacked. Far be it from me to stand in the way of folks wanting to show their hate and disrespect for the President. Please, do carry on...
