Is this a believeable XL price?

just called a egg dealer about an hour away, they quoted me $899 for an unassembled XL. I know that's a good deal, but do I need to worry about one that isn't assembled?

That's a good deal. You can assemble yourself with a few basic tools. Go for it!

If you have any mechanical inclination you are home-free.  The official BGE web site has assembly instructions and you tube has videos.  You may want to give them a quick look.  FWIW-

Does it include the nest? You can check Craig's List if not.
Then check out the Ceramic Grill Store for the AR and or Woo. Instead of the plate setter.

Easy to assemble. Just be sure you have the manpower to move it and get it home. You will likely need assistance to assemble just due to the bulkiness of the pieces. Enjoy. Post pics.

I would prefer to buy it unassembled. You can take your time and know it's done right.

If I can get one at a significant discount then unassembled is fine. However, my dealer sells them assembled and delivers to wherever you want it setup and they know what they're doing so I don't mind paying a little extra in that case.

  • Thanks for the comments guys. I have a minimax and actually won another one last night on football, but I am going to pay the difference and get an xl.

Btw, I called back and now the price is 1025 for not assembled. Gonna see if my local dealer will beat that.

@volminimax -  am I seeing a bait-and-switch here?  Price moves from $899 to $1025 on the same day within hours?  Reputable outfit?   Just sayin'   .

Honestly I know nothing about them. They are a true value store. I think the lady I spoke to quoted me the large price for the xl. My wife called back in between the 2 times I did, and they told her $1350, gender discrimination? Probably. I probably will buy off my local dealer, if they will offer me something in the $1000 range anyway.
