I've cut up the bird (couple of years ago), only because I could not get it to fit whole on MBGE. Even chickens, chop shopped out works well, legs on first, then breasts and wings. Nothing is overdone.Lvnthedrm said:

Re the MadMax ice process, try using gel packs, they stay in place a bit better. They wash up quite well. The other alternative is cook the bird breast down for the first hour, then flip it to finish. No need to ice.
