sorry, I'm waiting for the "organic, natural, free-range" oil to come out---I'm sure it won't be over $75 per bottle !!!!!Lagrange, GA LBGE

Call me old-fashioned, but I like plain old Crisco for this purpose (though I'm sure the oils above may have some advantages).

Great news! I'll add this to my simple syrup order.

Let's hope for the strength to make it to Friday PM. A world of possibilities await-but this being Friday Eve the thread could land in its own orbit.
Edit: SWMBO is getting more and more reluctant to oil my cast iron. Not sure what that portends...Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. # 38 for the win. Life is too short for light/lite beer! Seems I'm livin in a transitional period. -
Another 'snake oil' scheme for the inexperienced.
A lot like 'cutting board oil' for $9 of what is just mineral oil. Pharmacy price is $2.

I thought it was linseed oil that was the cool one now. Something about it being a polymer or some shiznet like that. It was more expensive than that stuff.

Just make sure to wipe off excess oil before placing in the oven for seasoning or the patina will have pooling and may become sticky.
