Chicken Noodle Soup

Yesterday, My Beautiful Wife, was a bit under the weather. I decided to make her something to help soothe her sore throat. I thought chicken noodle soup would be the elixir of choice.
Damn near killed me.
Most of you know, after 58 years of the absolute, and total disregard of Newtons laws of motion, specifically regarding the effect on my skeletal system, I occasionally have a problem walking. Add being a clumsy oaf to that equation, I am able to keep most folks in good humor, as I fall or stumble.
After heading to the grocery to get the items needed for the soup, and thus bringing them home, I exercised bad judgement, and what could only be described as a "totally not a MENSA moment", I decided to make one trip from the truck to our kitchen.
Bad move.
Carrying 6 bags and two cases of groceries, I took a bad step, with my surgically repaired ankle, and fell face first into the fence, I hate, (and plan to remove and replace this winter)
It got its last shot in on me.
Gashed my forehead, I bled like a pig, however, I was graceful enough not to spill or damage any of the groceries.
While roasting the chicken, I burned my hand on the new gas range, we got during the remodel. Our old one NEVER got that hot that fast. Despite all the warnings posted all over it, I failed the intelligence test again, by touching a hot surface. (A feature called "super boil" is named that for a reason, just sayin') yes sir, it was all they advertised it to be.
I won't waste your time with my cut fingers prepping the veggies and chicken, (twice, bloody)
Finally upon completion, I spilled the first bowl, (due to holding it in my hand of sliced flesh and second degree burns) of "just under boiling" liquid, all over me.
I am thinking this is karma, for all the heck I gave Jason, yesterday, about his brisket chili cook. @theyolksonyou - Peace brother. (Great pictures, and no, I had not been drinking. I have no excuses.)
Anyway, here is an image taken by a guy, with a bandaged skull, burnt hands, and sliced fingers, of the Soup I made for My Beautiful Wife, and my best friend.
It was excellent.

That made me laugh. I'm sorry for your pain and suffering, but haven't we all had days like that? I hope your wife appreciated all the effort on her behalf. May you both be better soon.Coleman, Texas
Large BGE & Mini Max for the wok. A few old camp Dutch ovens and a wood fired oven. LSG 24” cabinet offset smoker. There are a few paella pans and a Patagonia cross in the barn. A curing chamber for bacterial transformation of meats...
"Bourbon slushies. Sure you can cook on the BGE without them, but why would you?"

Sorry to hear that Ron. If you were this injured as a result of soup, I hate to think what might happen if you were to make a paella.YukonRon said:Yesterday, My Beautiful Wife, was a bit under the weather. That was a beautiful thing to do and the soups looks delicious @YukonRon. Look at the bright side. That same chicken soup can cure a cold and help gashes, cuts, and burns heal lightning fast. I have the same problem that you do as in can't chew gum and walk at the same time. That's why I make soup in large batches and freeze in single serve portions. That way, I have time for all of the wounds to heal between cooks.
All joking aside, I am sure your Beautiful Wife appreciated the soup. Large BGE

@GrateEggspectations - that was funny. It will be a while for the stitches to come out, and then of course, the skin grafts to heal properly, but then, I am back in the game. I will be lucky to do microwave popcorn until then.GrateEggspectations said:

We are peeps for sure @Dredger! I roasted 4 chickens, had about 6 pounds in spoon sized chunks going in. Made a huge pot, we will go through it pretty quick. Notice the Egg had nothing to do with attacking you like all those gas things did!!
what a great story. Sorry for all the pain it caused, but it sure makes for a great story. I can picture it in a movie. Sounds like something I could see Chevy Chase pulling off.
I hope to have stories like that about my wife and I one day!!Just bought an Egg? Here is what you get to look forward to now:
Plate Setter, FlameBoss 200, Spider, PSWOO-CI, Additional Rig Shelf for dome cooking, Thermapen, iGrill2, Cast Iron, Blackstone, Cooking Accessories for the Blackstone, Cover for the Egg and the Blackstone, shopping for Rub like a fine wine or IPA, and a new fascination with lump and what brand is the best-all to be debated every Friday Night. Next desires-Joetisceriie, Adjustable Rig, Grillmates, table and more eggs

@tikigriller - I got the eggs down, I start fire, put food on, close lid, open lid, take food off.tikigriller said:Notice the Egg had nothing to do with attacking you like all those gas things did!!

You know @YukonRon, after yesterday afternoon, I am beginning to wonder if you should get your eyes checked. I finally realized that I have been cooking blind, lol. You can only go by rote for so long. Just sayin.
