Shun Sora, have you seen it?

I was poking around a local store the other day and saw a 6" chefs knife from the Shun Sora line. Sora is the least expensive line of knives that Shun makes. The knife I was looking at was $50 something and change and $60 out the door I have an 8" global chefs knife that I love but wanted to try a smaller chefs knife and thought it would fit my wife's hand well. After I held this knife, it was and easy decision to buy it. At home I played with it most of the afternoon and created a dinner with as much chopping as possible. The blade is composite with a Vg10 cutting edge melded to a 420 Japanese steel upper blade. The weld is covered by the wavy pattern on the blade. The knife is razor sharp right out of the box and handles quite well. It is definetly not Shuns best knife but it certainly is a heck of a lot of knife for the money. I think of it as Shun's Victorinox, a quality knife made to come it at a reasonable price point. If your looking for reasonable priced knife you might want to add these Sora's to your list of knives to look at.

The handle is a polymer blend like the Victornox knives. Feels very secure and comfortable in my hand. Bought this as a whim, but considering the price and the quality, I may get another. You know what they say "it's impossible to own too many shotguns or knives or fishing rods etc" . This is my first Shun knife, I had no idea they made a economy line until I happened to see them the other day.

Great review.Just bought an Egg? Here is what you get to look forward to now:
Plate Setter, FlameBoss 200, Spider, PSWOO-CI, Additional Rig Shelf for dome cooking, Thermapen, iGrill2, Cast Iron, Blackstone, Cooking Accessories for the Blackstone, Cover for the Egg and the Blackstone, shopping for Rub like a fine wine or IPA, and a new fascination with lump and what brand is the best-all to be debated every Friday Night. Next desires-Joetisceriie, Adjustable Rig, Grillmates, table and more eggs

I love my shun classics. My next purchase will be from somewhere like chefknivestogo. The have some very hard steel thin blades. I am just trying to justify the $$ there vs other uses... good meat vs savings...ect.
