Greeting Eggers,
My table project is finally complete! It's a big heavy table (6ft X 3ft) with the hinge cutout. I'm a new Egger with not a lot of carpentry experience and ZERO BGE experience. I did a test light up and used the oil/paper towel method to start the lump (read it here and it worked perfectly - thanks). I kept a stable 300 for half an hour for practice, but noticed a small gap in the back - so I shut it down... I've got a band/alignment issue but will work on that tonight (band not tight in photos). Hope you like it - did lots of reading on this forum and wouldn't have made it far without this site so thank you!

Looks like a good amount of carpentry and fitting went into that table. Built like a tank. Looks great.
I just moved mine to tables over the past couple of weeks. The easiest/best one I did was the large yesterday morning. The wire ties snapped because it was so cold out I'm thinking. Took the springs out and put everything together aligning the band's then retightning the hinge bolts, then with some help I installed the springs again. Came out perfect. Note, you really want help holding the egg or at least put the ceramics in. Lid will tip the egg otherwise.Bill Denver, CO

I wish I had the facilities to build THIS. But I don't even have a table saw, so I'm stuck doing what I CAN do. -

Thanks everyone - I used a circular saw (depth adjusted) and chisel for the shoulder cuts on the 4x4's (legs) and 2x6's (frame) and then sanded.

It is time consuming, but worth the effort.
Also - I smoked my first wings this weekend and they turned out fantastic! I wouldn't have made it far without the people here so thanks again! Now on to the meatloaf! Any tips?

What is the measuremental from the bottom level top the top of the table. Assuming this is a large egg -

It is a large and I'm not 100% sure right now of the exact measurement, but the way I got that number was by setting up the base with the nest and paver together on the floor and used a straight yard stick to find exactly where I wanted the top to be.
In this case, I wanted the top of the table in line with the crease on the base where the bottom band attaches.

nice.....looks really solidly built, my similar table constructed 3 years ago and put in a 20x20 piece of ceramic tile from Home Depot [1.88] and it really helps when you have "hot stuff" to rest rather than putting it on your nice wood

I don't see a bottle opener mounted on the table, so how can it be usable?

I like it. I built a BBQ cart using a similar process. No exposed fasteners. It sits next to my Egg. It's a little more weathered now.

Greeting Eggers,After a recent move and a new Blackstone 36 in the arsenal, I don't have much room on the patio for this large of a table. Anyways - I'm thinking about getting rid of it and would probably trade it for a nest with mates or the intEGGrated nest with the handler...If anyone is remotely interested, let me know. I did remove the wheels and replaced with the 4x4 spacer as it was way heavy to move anywhere.Thanks,Happy Father's Day weekend to all you dads!-RoebuckBirmingham, Ala.
