The great folks at Big Green Egg put on one heck of an event on Saturday and I was honored to be a part of it. I couldn't be any more proud of what my crew accomplished. We fed the masses and squeezed out a narrow margin 1st Place win. Congrats to Team Eggcellent Eats on their 2nd Place win and to the Serial Grillers for the 3rd Place win! We had a great day and enjoyed seeing everyone there!
Here's some pics from the day. Hope you enjoy.
This menu ran all day:

This was our EGGtoberfest recipe. We called it a Jailhouse "Rock" - Inspired by Elvis Presley's favorite sandwich.
This is a grilled banana cookie dough ball, battered & deep fried, peanut butter glaze and smoked candied bacon.
Grilled, smoked and fried all in one recipe.

Our crew came from all over the US. I couldn't ask for better friends.

Ken Hess and @MeatChurch BBQ's Matt Pittman stopped by to taste some of Blake Carson's rodizio magic.

We used two Large Eggs with Pizza Portas to crank out 68 artisan pizzas.

THE MAN, Mr Ed Fisher, stopped by to sample some of our goodness.

My feet still hurt, but i'd do it all over again.

Our group survived, but I don't think we got any pics. Between the food, the beer, and the heavy drinking during and after the Tennessee game, it was a painful drive back to Nashville on Sunday.
I got to meet a few forum members and the weather was great.
But it the best part of the day was standing in line at the @MeatChurch booth for like 20 minutes and finally one of the guys behind me drunkenly said, "man I'm not waiting any longer for another beer, this line is ridiculous" and handed me all his groups beer tickets. Some days you just win."Brought to you by bourbon, bacon, and a series of questionable life decisions."

I've never personally met you but I can say for sure your team had it going on and I can now see why there are a few haters that follow you closely. Your team took it to the next level all day.

Not sure about the self promotion comment...looks to me like he brought it, cooked it, and Won it...who here wouldn't post it?
-
I can appreciate the posts and cooks. I steer away from the instagram for the most part it's hyping and trying to "influence" products...but I get it everyone is trying that route on instagram.

@MeatChurch, Matt are you going to be at the American Royal again this year? I met you there last year and it will be interesting to have it at the Speedway. I have never actually met him, but chatting back and forth he seems like a heck of a nice guy. I was glad to be able to help him out. He really wanted to attend as he had been asking around on the forum for tickets. I couldn't make it so I gave them to him. Hope that y'all had a great time.DaveRichardson said:Scottie - I ran into the guy that you gave your tickets to, he was a very nice guy. We chatted for a few minutes in the BGE sales tent.
