Hurricane Matthew screwing up my plans
Aint got no time for a hurricane! Anyway my plans are to leave for Stone Mountain for the egg fest from NE Florida on Friday morning because the wife and I have to work on Thursday. We both work for the fire department and they will probably call me in to work at the emergency operation center. Ive been looking forward to this trip!
Anyway, took a pic at the local Ace of all the gassers trying to fill up. Had to crack a smile. Cashier was telling people that the main tank was almost empty, but the line continued to grow anyway. I walked in and grabbed another bag of Rockwood. Ill be set if the power goes out. Just have to figure out where to take a dump if the water goes out. Hope to still see you guys and gals in Gerogia. Anyword if Stone Mountain park will be open and if the eggfest is still on?

Sorry Matthew throws a wrench in things, but you guys walk in, when most run away. No doubt, you will do what you have to do.
Saw this in the Cabela's mag last night.

Yeah taking a dump without running water can be an issue. You could fill up a bathtub, if you have one, with water and use a bucket to flush the toilet. Or if you have a barrel or two handy fill them from a hose, pre-hurricane. Only been thru one Hurricane, that was enough for me. Good luck and keep safe...
-
As mentioned, presuming you have a standard tank toilet, just fill the tank manually before each flush. Store water in a bathtub or get a bunch of 5 gal buckets and fill them beforehand. Has worked for me for years.
I'm in a suburb of Fort Lauderdale (right in the path) and had the same experience at the local stores as you at Ace - was hilarious watching the lines for propane. I just went and got a few extra bags of RO at HD and am all set.

I wish it would hang left. We need some rain over here in my neck of the woods

I must confess-I owned a weber gasser ( for many years, along with a weber charcoal set-up) and it was a hacker. But I also owned two tanks and as soon as the lead tank emptied, I installed the second and refilled the first. Never wondered about sufficient tank levels. Inventory management-not a difficult concept.Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. Life is too short for light/lite beer! Seems I'm livin in a transitional period. This! Wishing that a cat 4 hurricane makes a direct hit versus posting a funny sign is like comparing Eggs and a 55 gallon drum smoker.HeavyG said:

The lean is taught in the high-drama courses that every weather guesser has to minor in to be accepted into the field. And they are good at working with the local grocery chains to manage the bread and milk inventories during stressful (weather-driven) events. Just an observation.
Not discounting the severity of Matthew as that is the real deal.Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. Life is too short for light/lite beer! Seems I'm livin in a transitional period. CHEETO (aka Agent Orange) makes Nixon look like a saint. -
Th best in Miami turns to the side then Leans back for the pic to post on twitter. Funny thing that all the Miami weather ladies maintain a healthy lifestyle a d dress like they're going out to the club right after their morning newscast.=======================================

The family lives near the beach in Jacksonville so they had to evacuate. Naturally I let them stay at my house while the storm hits. I cannot, in good conscious, leave them here while the wife and I go on a vacation. I was really looking forward to this. We are expecting hurricane winds starting around 2 pm tomorrow. Stupid ass storm looks like its going to loop around and nail Florida again. Anyway, just wanted to thank @The_Buffalo for the tickets. Everyone stay safe
