Those look like pieces of the kiln. Stuff happens when you're using a front end loader in a kiln. No big deal.

Rarely find rock or kiln in Rockwood.  Still no biggie.

True, my last couple bags of RO have had several pieces of fiberglass insulation. Really stinks as it burns off. Besides just the rocks.lol

I have yet to find any foreign objects in RO. Only one batch (Walmart) that had a significant about of fines. But then, I've only been using it for 6 years. =)

I hate it when I go to the kitchen for food and all I find are ingredients!

  • oh my.  say it ain't so....

lotta acolytes gonna be in a tailspin

    (hyperbole).

meh.  it happens.  there hasn't been a manufacturer yet that i know of who doesn't have a rock or two once in a while, unless they manufacture extruded lump or briquettes.  no bg deal.

pretty sure rockwood over fills their bags too, as do many.

Expected that RW rocks would have been tumbled/polished. Kinda disappointed.

If that is really the case then you should buy a lottery ticket.

Its back and forth. One minute I can see them and then I can't. I don't have a clue what's going on with that.

No doubt. I've found concrete and rocks in every bag of RO I've ever used. Nothing that gets me upset, don't really think it's a big deal myself. Some people just got to have something to whine about. Heck, I've found rocks in BGE and Vision as well. None in RW or El Diablo yet.

  • Before I stopped using RO 2 years ago, I used the rocks to hurl at the squirrels that raided my birdfeeders..... I think I've had 1 rock in 2 years of Rockwood, Fogo, and Forrest Lumps use.

But they are some purty rocks.......

There's a gravel path next to my egg. All those little rocks get added to it. Helps make up for the ones my kids steal to play with. It's like the circle of life, when I'm egging.

(Has anyone considered getting cremated and using a mini as an urn? Could be awesome. Sorry for the morbid hijack)

Rocks improve airflow.  I keep a bucket of river rocks by my egg for when I'm hand placing lump for low and slows.  I use the 5:2:1 method for lump:rock:wood.
