Porterhouse, love em!

Big filet on this one. PSA: It's worth taking the time to look through the porterhouse selection to make sure you find the ones with the biggest filet. These were from Win-Dixie, $7 a lb on sale.

    Perfect.  I usually think of one side of the bone as the entrée and the other side as the side dish.

    I do the same - look for the biggest filet.  And I eat that part first, of course.

    Maybe 3 weeks after Katrina, a buddy of mine made a road trip to a grocery store in Baton Rouge or somewhere where they had open grocery stores and he brought us back a big family pack of porterhouse steaks.  We hadn't had steaks in what seemed like forever.  It was the best steak I ever had, in context of living off MREs and pantry food.

    wife eats the filet and I get the top...as Phil Robertson says "happy, happy, happy"!!
